Dope Ass Style : Baby got Black

My mom style can be defined as anything that doesn’t make me feel like I do on the inside: a hot mess.

On days where I can barely keep it together, it always makes me feel better to look pulled together on the outside.

(They say your outer reality is a reflection of your inner reality, so I’d like to think a good outfit is a nice place to start.)

Working from home gives me ample opportunity to strut the athletic style that has become so popular, but sometimes it’s just fun to get out in the world and remind yourself you own regular pants (#truth).

Although I love colors, all black with a pop of leopard is a no brainer for the days when I’m in a hurry and want to look stylish. The tuxedo jacket makes this outfit instantly elevated and could easily carry over from day to night.  A few of my essentials are a chic, fitted black blazer and a sexy pair of black jeans.  The blazer pulls together an outfit and says, “hey world, I could run a board meeting or chaperone a field trip, and either way I’d look fly.”  Black jeans help dress up an outfit without trying too hard.  And if you’re really feeling like a frisky kitty, add some leopard shoes to the look!

I love this look paired with a pop of color on my lips.  As they say, give a girl the right lipstick and she can conquer the world (or conquer the car line, but hey, small victories.)

Recently a friend of mine scored this Dolce and Gabbana jacket and I promptly stole it from her. She actually left it when we were out for cocktails so technically I saved its life by bringing it home.

I’m obsessed, and I’m not sure I can give it up. Even though I might lose a friend, I’m gaining a tuxedo jacket. ;)

Xo,

Andrea
