Making Your Own Career with The Daily Tay, Taylor Wolfe
Meeting strangers on the internet and inviting them into a closet to record a podcast — add that to the list of things Andrea never thought she’d do. Tune in to this week’s episode of The Dope Ass Podcast to hear Andrea do it with Taylor Wolfe, aka @thedailytay. They’re talking everything from quitting jobs, growing up on cheez whiz and Taylor’s adorable pup Harlow.
What do you want to be when you grow up? We all heard that as a kid and you likely gave the same boring ass answers today’s guest did: doctor, fireman, or knife artist. Ok, you probably never gave that last one but that didn’t stop today’s guest from, shall we say, exploring her inner cookie dough salesman. Joining Andrea on today’s Dope Ass Podcast is none other than Taylor Wolfe aka @thedailytay herself.
Taylor and Andrea talk using Horrible Bosses as the inspiration behind viral blogging content and up and leaving her post during lunch breaks. This is one dope ass woman who carves her own path, which is the official definition of living a #DopeAssLife.

Somewhere in Nebraska…
Yo, yo, yo. What’s up, blogging world?
This week on The Dope Ass Podcast, I sat down with the *original* blogger, Taylor Wolfe.
One of my good friends from Instagram, Taylor and I met online, and then at a comedy show, and have been close ever since. Maybe it’s our shared southern/western/rural roots (shout out to Nebraska and Texas) but we just click. And I’m sure this connection came out loud and clear on the wild trajectory of our podcast this week.
We spent maybe a little too much time reminiscing on the dark side of sorority recruitment — if you know what a “hometown” girl is, you know what we mean, and honestly too little time recalling the joy of growing up eating cheez whiz on celery during the holidays.
Taylor gave me an epic walkthrough of her nonlinear career path, which included, but is not limited to working as a cookie dough sales representative at elementary schools. Even cooler than that or her stint as a knife artist selling culinary school to students, is that Taylor has never let a job hold her back or kill her vibe. She knows what she loves and what she wants to do, and she does it. Whether that’s using horrible bosses as inspiration behind viral blogging content, or just up and leaving her post during lunch break, Taylor carves her own path, which is the official definition of living a #DopeAssLife.
And you know what’s equally dope? Her love for her dog Harlow. Seriously. Her dog is adorable, but Taylor has incorporated her love for him, and dogs in general, to make her work more meaningful. What is that work, you ask?? Along with her hilarious and incredibly well-written blog, Taylor is in the t-shirt business. Just to brag on her behalf, she was the FIRST person to put “Married AF” on a tee, so think of her next time you see it. Or any t-shirt for that matter.
Anywho, Taylor donates a percentage of all proceeds from her dog-themed shirt business to help save the pups, which is super admirable for someone who claims to have been “not that nice of a person” in high school. Growth, people. It’s possible.
Another part of Taylor’s life that’s utterly fascinating? Her excellent character work, especially LaVona, a chef inspired by I, Tonya. So if you see us at Anna (my daughter’s) hockey games causing a scene, you’ll know exactly what’s up. Join in on the fun or look the other way, because these two English-majoring, dog-loving sorority gals just don’t care.
